15 Years of Harvest Ministry Teams

15 Year Celebration

Dear Friends ~

Summer 2010 marks the fifteenth anniversary for Harvest Ministry Teams.  Fifteen years of walking beside youth ministry leaders, students, children, camp directors and conference leaders has been rewarding, fun and fruitful.  What a joy to look back and see that, for this season, we have been placed here to serve in the name of Jesus.

Our mission has been to 1) equip young adults for ministry while 2) providing a resource to the local church.  I pray that lives have been changed and the world is different because of this ministry.

On Friday night, April 30, 2010, we will be hosting the Harvest Celebration Banquet for everyone who has been a part of the ministry. You are invited to RSVP and attend this complimentary banquet.  During the evening will be thanking those who have supported Harvest Ministry Teams through financial gifts, prayer, encouragement and hospitality. We will also be introducing the 2010 summer team members that evening. Willie J will be the special musical guest and you won't want to miss him.

To RSVP, please email harvest@harvestministryteams.com and we will put your name on the guest list. We look forward to seeing you!

Growth & Vision

As we enter this landmark year, the vision remains strong!  As we look toward the next fifteen years, we have a goal of raising $15,000 by April 30, 2010.  This money will help fuel the growing vision of Harvest Ministry.  In addition to under girding the summer ministry teams that will be traveling this summer, we also hope to strengthen Harvest
Conference Ministry.

Harvest Conference Ministry...
During the last season of Harvest Conferences (Fall 2009- Spring 2010), we have offered training and discipleship events, at a reasonable cost, by partnering with twelve local churches as hosting sites. We had the privilege of connecting personally with over 1600 people who attended Harvest Conference events and ministries last season. This represents approximately 300 churches.

The Light Kids Conference (for first - fifth grades), Ignition Middle School Conference (for sixth - eighth grades), Fire-Up Conference for (ninth - twelfth grades), The Worship Conference and the The Well for Youth Ministry Leaders all aided in the mission to equip leaders and provide a resource to the local church.

The contributions raised this month will help make a stronger impact in the lives of students and leaders in Illinois and the Midwest. The funds raised this month will serve as seed money to transition the volunteer event coordinator position to a paid position, as the need for more full time hospitality grows in this area. We will also seek to enhance the ministry at each of these events through upgraded publicity and information, as well as upgraded programming during the weekends themselves. As far as resources go, we are constantly asked when "the next" thing will be available - in terms of music, fun stuff, motions, etc. Twenty five percent of the money will go toward the summer ministry ($3750), twenty five precent will go toward resources ($3750) and fifty percent will go toward Harvest Conferences ($7500). I am so excited about the gifts that have been given and will be given, and the impact they will have in the lives of children, youth, and adults - and the future of the church!
